Fire Prevention Officers Meeting

12th November 1942

A representative gathering of the West Wales Fire Prevention Officers met at the Fire Guard' Depot, Carmarthen, on Saturday last, Councillor Tom Davies, Ammanford, presiding.

The reports given by the officers present, who represented the Local Authorities from Neyland to Cwmamman, showed that the recent Registration had materially added to the strength of the Fire Guards and this, together with the encouraging reports of the training, showed that West Wales will be well protected from the effects of any incendiary bomb attack.,

The secretary, Mr. R. S. Squires, Carmarthen, reported upon the visit to the Regional Commissioner's Office.

Major Tilleard, Milford Haven, was elected on the Executive Committee in addition to the Chairman and Secretary.
