Ammanford's deputy Mayor, Clr. Amman Davies officially opened the town's Fire Station Open Day last Saturday.

MORE than 600 visitors helped Ammanford's fire Brigade raise at least £1,000 for charity at their open day on Saturday.

A Leading fireman who helped organise the event said this week: “It was a tremendous success and we are all very pleased with the result.

“The sun shone for the first time for weeks and the public responded magnificently.” He added that we would particularly like to thank local traders for supplying raffle prizes. “The raffle raised a considerable amount because of the quality of the prizes.”
