A DEVASTATING fire in an Ammanford barn was still burning five days after the fire brigade battled throughout the night to contain it.
Arthur Clayton, who runs Clayton, who runs Clayton Animal Feeds in Tirydail, is devastated by the loss of 2,500 bales of hay, 2,000 bags of shavings, five tonnes of sugar beet and various farm machinery after the barn at his small holding in Heol Ddu caught fire last Wednesday night.
Firefighters fought from 10pm that night against the blaze and finally left at 9am the following morning.
