GOOD CONDUCT AWARD

FIREMEN serving at Ammanford was presented with long-service and good conducted medal at Carmarthen Fire Station last week.

Sub Officer David Williams and Station Officer Teifion Williams, of Ammanford received the medals to mark 20 years service from the Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed.

Sub Officer David Williams joined Carmarthen and Cardigan Joint Fire Brigade in 1969 and was promoted to Leading Fireman in 1982 and gained his present post last year. He is a retained fireman and works part of the time for the Post Office.

His Ammanford Station Officer Teifion Williams, of Tumble joined the Carmarthen and Cardigan brigade, later the same year.

He served at Llanelli, Tumble and Carmarthen before being promoted to officer in charge at Ammanford in July last year.
